Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development, the Office of Technology Partnerships encompasses technology commercialization, corporate & strategic partnerships, and innovation & entrepreneurship.
Our mission is to drive economic growth in Inland Southern California by cultivating a vibrant and collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem. We bridge the university, industry, and community to deliver fast, accessible, and customized business support. Through our efforts, we help local entrepreneurs develop, fund, validate, commercialize, and scale life-changing innovations—creating meaningful impact for both society and the regional economy.

What We Achieved in 2024
This past year alone, and thanks to our sponsors, we delivered more than $500,000 in direct grants and resources to our portfolio of students, faculty and community entrepreneurs, so they can conduct technical and market validation, secure new customers and build out our region’s ecosystem. This investment is complemented with more than 2,000 hours of business mentorship delivered through our INNOVAR and Zero-to-Entrepreneur workshops and direct client mentoring sessions. All of these efforts are transforming UCR and our region in a destination for innovation, entrepreneurship and prosperity.
What We Provide
Business Development Support & Mentorship for Entrepreneurs
Through EPIC (Entrepreneurial Proof of Concept and Innovation Center), founders can access mentorship, training, incubator support, and funding pathways that help move innovative companies from early development to growth.
Technology Commercialization
Support for intellectual property, licensing, and commercialization pathways that help move UCR research and innovation toward real-world impact.
Industry Partnerships
Connect with UCR faculty, research capabilities, and collaboration opportunities that support sponsored research, innovation, and industry engagement. Additional support is also available for research agreements and proposal development.
Advance Regional Innovation and Growth
Through initiatives like SoCal OASIS™ Build to Scale and the Inland SoCal Accelerate Hub, UC Riverside works with regional partners, public agencies, and innovation ecosystem collaborators to strengthen entrepreneurship, attract investment, and support business growth across Inland Southern California.
